Legislative Agenda

Each year, the League adopts a legislative agenda which identifies specific areas the League will focus during the legislative session. Some items are actively lobbied for or against while others are monitored for information dissemination to members throughout the state. The agenda is set by consensus of the state Board of Directors each November for the following January.

The League’s priorities include:

Safeguarding democracy in Georgia

Strengthening democracy and encouraging accountability from elected officials

Examples of ongoing issues include:

Improving education

Preserving natural resources

Women’s and children’s health issues

Quality childcare

Violence prevention
